We feel that worship at St. Gabriel’s is traditional but not conservative, reverent but not stuffy. The two Sunday services, with rare exceptions, are services of Holy Eucharist and are found in The Book of Common Prayer.

The 8:00 service is more traditional, seldom includes music and is Rite I at all seasons.

The 10:30 service is Rite II, more contemporary and is usually accompanied by music. The service is mostly spoken, but the Psalm and portions of the eucharistic prayers are sometimes chanted. The congregation is familiar with all four eucharistic prayers and a variety of service music.

The laity participate in both services as readers, servers, acolytes, and altar guild members. Vergers assist at 10:30.

Special services occur throughout the year. Two Christmas Eve services are offered, both an early family service where a pageant is presented and a midnight eucharist with music. In the past, services for Ash Wednesday have been shared with a neighboring Lutheran congregation. Services during Holy Week include the Easter Vigil and a service of Tennebrae.

St. Gabriel's is the first new Episcopal Church in Hall county in 150 years. Our first Sunday service was May 17, 1998. The church was formed by members of Grace Church in Gainesville who lived in the southern part of Hall County. The original group charged with the responsibility of establishing the new church consisted of 14 people.

Since our first Sunday service we have grown rapidly and continue to attract people living south of Gainesville from all branches of the Christian church. Our growth is primarily from the people moving into the area.

The Episcopal Church believes that a mature, useful and lasting faith is nurtured by being in a religious environment that encourages both commitment and questioning. We at St. Gabriel's believe that our worship, teaching, service, and preaching work toward this goal. We invite you to join us in our journey.

At St. Gabriel's – as at all Episcopal churches – everyone is welcome. Check out the rest of our web site to learn more about us. Then come see for yourself.
