Stewardship At St. Gabe's

Stewardship is an opportunity for the people of God to share their time, talents, and treasure for the glory of God in serving the parish of St. Gabe's, our local community and the world at large.  That's just the starting point.  We also believe stewardship encompasses much more.  Christian stewardship is living our lives in such a way that we embrace the principle: what blessings we have flow from God and we are to be faithful stewards of the "flow" we receive.

We have a responsibility as Christians to actively share and utilize the many gifts that God has bestowed upon us in our lives.  Stewardship also reflects the active ways the Holy Spirit is fundamentally working in our lives for the betterment of the lives of others and the natural resources we have a responsibility to protect.  We have many different ways for you to participate in stewardship at St. Gabe's.  Take a quick tour below and find those areas that serve your spiritual journey and deepen your relationship to God.

Giving Back:  Financial Stewardship

There are several ways to participate financially in supporting our parish.  Your financial support enables our parish to operate and continue to serve our many ministries.  Usually in the early fall of the current year, parishioners are asked to make a private financial pledge, in writing, to St. Gabriel's for the upcoming year.  This is necessary because the Vestry will establish a budget for the upcoming year based on the pledges it receives.  St. Gabriel's does not receive funding from any other source except our parishioners.  As such, it is so important for everyone to make a financial pledge.

We recognize that there are times when pledges (a covenant with the church) are not possible, such as when economic times or lifestyle changes are unexpectedly found in our midst.  If you are unable to make a financial commitment in the form of a pledge, please join others in making a contribution through the offering plate at our liturgical services.  If you find that circumstances challenge a pledge commitment you have made, you may always modify your pledge.

At the end of each liturgical service, we also have the Ch'Angels box for spare change donations.  Ch'Angels supports many ministries with our donations of small change.

From time to time, we may have a special support need such as natural disaster relief in our local area, special intentions, or support for a specific facet of the Episcopal Church.  Join us in contributing as a parish to those things which arise unexpectedly so we can bless others continually.

Giving Back:  Spirit Stewardship

Everyone has one or more callings to a ministry service that fills their spirit.  We are God's hands, feet, and voices in our community.  St. Gabe's has so many multi-talented individuals and we invite you to share your talents in those areas which represent a calling to you specifically.  Get involved...giving back with our time and talents is so rewarding through friendships made and a deepening of our faith relationship with God.  Click here to visit our Ministries page if you would like to share your talents for the benefit of  others.

Giving Back:  Planned Giving

Planned giving is a process of financial planning with your legal and tax advisors to support the church in a specific way.  Planned gift options generally include outright gifts and deferred gift categories.  Some benefits are designed to provide immediate benefit to the church and needed tax benefits to the donor, whereas others may be designed to provide future gifts to the church.  To read more about Planned Giving, click here.  Please note that St. Gabriel's does not engage in providing legal or tax advice regarding any planned giving strategy.  Strategies are best designed by appropriate legal and tax counsel.
